Bondurant-Farrar Blue Jay Pride Color Guard
Hello there! This is Bondurant's newest website for those who are interested in the sport of color guard. Here is where you can check out: routines, music, pictures, awards, dates and more. This new season of 2015-2016 we are looking forward to newcomers to join this wonderful groups of students.

Who We Are
Bondurant-Farrar Blue Jay Pride Color Guard is part of the Blue Jay Pride marching band directed by Braden Wippermen. We are a small group that grows every season. Every year we do a clinic for students 5th through 8th grade looking to join Color Guard and experience it to determine if they want to join guard. We welcome anyone and everyone to join, including gentlemen.
Directors and Coaches
Mindy Van Gundy is the coach for the Bondurant-Farrar Blue Jay Pride Color Guard. She is a great coach and is flexible on your time if you have other practices, doctor appointments, etc. Braden Wipperman is the director of the band and color guard and looks over routines, schedules, and practices. He helps make sure there are no sudden changes in schedules or practices. Both Mindy and Mr. Wipperman pick a section leader out of those who apply at the start of every marching band season. The section leader is usually a junior or senior of the color guard, or someone that has the most experience and is responsible and trustworthy. The section leader (captain) is responsible for mornings when Mindy can't be there or Mr. Wipperman is busy with another section. All three of these people are on the contact page. If you want to know any information please contact them with their contact information given on the contact page.
What is Expected of a Member
To join the Bondurant-Farrar Blue Jay Pride Color Guard you must be in 9th grade and up. Being a member of the Bondurant-Farrar Blue Jay Pride Color Guard means you are to be at practices on time and at every practice. If you can't make it to practice please give a 24-hour notice that you will be gone. If you are sick please bring a doctor's note back when you have recovered. If other practices such as fall play, cross-country, or dance, please let at least two of the three people (director, coach, and/or captain) know you have a prior commitment and are not able to make it to a practice. If you can make it to at least some of the practice that would be much appreciated.
INFO
Color guard practices are during marching band season. They are once a week from 7p.m to 9 p.m with Mindy. Marching band practice will start at 7 a.m. Members will need to be ready to go on the field by then. Members will need to order some necessities when joining. These things can be loaned to new members but some things such as uniforms and shoes will most likely need to be ordered. Any questions on this you can contact Mindy or Mr. Wipperman for further information.
Other information on the Bondurant-Farrar Blue Jay Pride Color Guard
The Blue Jay Pride Color Guard not only performs at home football games and marching band competitions, but they also do winter guard and a clinic every year. This year winter guard was not able to perform due to some work schedules. When there is a winter guard they will perform at basketball games during half time. This year they are doing a clinic. The clinic is on..... and allows 5th through 8th graders to learn a routine and perform it at the spring dance show. There will be more information about this between March and April. The song chosen for the clinic will be Tornado by Little Big Town. If you want to listen to the song go to our music page. To get students interested for the clinic the Bondurant-Farrar Blue Jay Color Guard will perform at the middle school towards the end of the day. If your child is in 8th grade and enjoys working with the Blue Jay Pride Color Guard during the clinic, then he or she will be given more information on when try-outs and when practices start. For more information on this please contact the band director coach, and/or captain.
